|Organization||Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger|
|We're located in...||Tampa, FL (serve Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas)|
|Our mission is...||To end hunger in Tampa Bay by bringing people together to find solutions that eliminate barriers, increase access and knowledge, and expand the amount of nutritious food available.|
|We serve...||Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. Our “Network” is made up of over 350 members, including academics, scientists, government agencies, churches, farms, meal providers, food banks and pantries, transportation agencies, group homes, healthcare agencies, and more—all working to create hunger-free communities where everyone has equal access to food.|
|Our greatest accomplishment last year was...||1) Piloting a new Meals on Wheels St. Petersburg program - serving nutritious meals to underserved older adults three days per week 2) Hosting our 2019 Sunshine Summit to End Hunger, a 2-day anti-hunger conference which provides a platform for more than 300 participants to address the most pressing challenges surrounding hunger and food insecurity. 3) Piloting our “Creating a Regenerative Community Food System” program - in the first 3 months, we diverted approximately 3,120 pounds of excess food and food scraps from the trash to feed people and help grow more local food. That's 3.04 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions avoided... similar to about 8 cars being taken off the road! We also hosted 7 free community composting classes with over 150 attendees. 4) Updating our Hunger Gap Map. This free tool provides an interactive picture of the emergency food supply and demand by zip code in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. Thousands of agencies, businesses, and individuals around the bay area that use our hunger map to locate services and determine areas of greatest need.|
