Our mission is...Our mission is to educate, inspire and entertain everyone in our community through performing arts, with an emphasis on school children and underserved families.
We serve...People from all over the Tampa Bay region and beyond.
Our greatest accomplishment last year was...Bringing nearly 300 events to the Mahaffey Theater, serving a total of 250,000 visitors, 18,000 of which were happy school children attending our youth performance series.

Board responsibilities include:

  • Governance of the organization
  • Supporting fundraising and development efforts of Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts / Mahaffey Theater, with an annual “give or get” goal.
  • Helping grow the constituency - especially the Membership Program
  • Serving as an ambassador in the community.
  • Development of strategic planning for long term sustainability.
  • Leveraging professional expertise and experience to advise our nonprofit.
  • Attending and participating in meetings of the Board of Trustees.
  • Attending and participating in special events, friend-raisers, and fundraisers.
  • Hosting intimate events in your home or workplace, if possible.

We are looking for a diverse group of fun, passionate community-minded innovators who would enjoy playing an important role in shaping the future of an organization dedicated to keeping the performing arts accessible to everyone in our community.

  • Young professionals who want to give back to the community while expanding their network and broadening their leadership experience.
  • Anyone with a passion for the arts and a talent for championing a great cause.
  • People who aren't afraid of fundraising - we will train you! It's not always direct asks - it's as simple as inviting someone to a show to experience theater.

We welcome anyone with a desire to help keep the performing arts alive in our community.

Our current board size is...5 and we would like to grow it to 10-12
We meet (when and where)...Quarterly on Thursdays at 4pm at 6090 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL (*subject to change)
The time commitment is...6-10 hours a month
