CFO Roundtable – Investment Strategies for Nonprofits (Virtual)

  • September 13, 2022
    2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

Great minds DON’T all think alike, thankfully. As nonprofit CFOs, getting fresh perspectives on pressing challenges can be just the push we need to propel us forward.

Our CFO Roundtable, drawing on the collective wisdom of the group, will help you identify new ideas, tools, or strategies to help you meet or exceed your goals.

All CFO Roundtable sessions include:

  • Facilitated discussion/presentation on topics of interest to the group, when needed
  • Open and facilitated networking time to give you the opportunity to meet new colleagues and deepen relationships with those you already know.
  • A mini think-tank/brainstorming session for up to 3 participants who wish to bring a challenge to the group.

In this virtual session we will discuss the topic of Investment Strategies for non-profits. Join us as Diane Hinckley, CFP®, leads the discussion about elements of an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and the importance of a clearly defined objective as the cornerstone for a strong investment strategy and strategic asset allocation.

You will have the opportunity to share your experience and hear the collective wisdom of the group as we talk about portfolio liquidity, time horizon, spending rates and other elements of the IPS that you will want to know about and may want to consider for your organization.

In Diane’s previous position as CFO for The Florida Orchestra, her duties included managing the Endowment and Investment committee.  In 2018 she made a career change and became a financial advisor with Thrive Financial Advisors where she provides financial services to individuals and families.

To participate in the CFO Roundtable, we request that you meet the following criteria set forth by the group:

  • Bachelor of Arts in accounting, i.e. a formal accounting background
  • Five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Top finance officer (or acting in that capacity) for organization
