We are so pleased to present 4 series of NLC classes in Pinellas county in 2019! The 4 series will cover leadership, board governance, marketing, and fund development. There are a few things unique to these Pinellas classes that we’d like to share with you:
- All of these classes are happening in Pinellas but in various locations, so please pay close attention to the location listed below as well as our reminder e-mails to make sure you end up at the right place!
- You will get the most benefit if you sign up for the entire series. Registration is a simple, one-step process, as well. If you are registering for 1 or 2 individual sessions, rather than the series, be sure to add tickets for each individual session to your cart.
- NLC is thrilled to provide classroom training in Pinellas, thanks to the generous support of our funders: Juvenile Welfare Board, Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and Pinellas Community Foundation. When you accept a free seat from a funder, there is an expectation that if you cannot attend, you will either send a coworker in your place or let us know with enough notice so that we can offer the seat to another organization on the waiting list (most of these classes are sold out).We will be sharing attendance with the funders after class so they can see who benefitted from their support, so we thank you for your cooperation as we strive to reach the greatest number of nonprofit leaders possible through our training in Pinellas.
Mo’ Money, Less Donors with Alyce Lee Stansbury, CFRE
Less donors…say what? Is your organization struggling to achieve its annual fundraising goals? You’ll discover the importance of donor retention, understanding donor motivations, and how they impact giving. Attendees will learn tangible ways to build donor loyalty and engage board and staff to achieve fundraising results. Join Alyce Lee for this fun, fast-paced, and highly interactive session that will reveal proven strategies for building authentic relationships and exceeding goal!
Alyce Lee Stansbury, CFRE is a 25-year fundraising veteran and seasoned advisor in nonprofit management and board development. She has raised millions of dollars and helped her clients grow fundraising results by over 200% and exceed campaign goals by 45%. Alyce Lee is nationally certified Master Trainer in Fundraising, a sought-after speaker, and co-writes a weekly newspaper column called “Notes on Nonprofits.”
She is past President of the Big Bend chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and first recipient of the chapter’s Outstanding Fund Raising Professional Award. She is Board Chair of the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence in Tallahassee and a passionate advocate for the nonprofit sector.
Major Gifts for the Small Shop with Sara Leonard, CFRE
Raising major gifts can seem like a real reach for small fundraising shops. But it’s not!
If your nonprofit spends too much time on special events, you may miss opportunities to build those crucial relationships that lead to larger gifts. Want to make real fundraising progress? Make major gifts a priority.
In this new, 4-hour class you will learn to:
- Make major gifts part of your fundraising program
- Identify who should be on your major gifts fundraising team
- Create a cultivation strategy for your prospects
- Ask for major gifts with confidence and clarity
- Properly thank and steward donors to develop long-term relationships for your nonprofit
Any nonprofit volunteer or staff member who is part of a fundraising team of one to five members will benefit from this class.
Planned Giving, When That’s Not All You Do with Sara Leonard, CFRE
Many nonprofits mistakenly think that raising planned gifts is only for “large” organizations. This brand-new, 4-hour class will prove that’s not the case and help you build a custom-to-your-organization roadmap for raising planned gifts–even if you have other responsibilities.
Planned giving –support through wills, trusts and other estate gifts – is a critical component of your nonprofit’s fund development program. No matter how big or small.
In this class you will learn to:
- Identify prospects from your existing donors,
- Cultivate planned giving prospects,
- Integrate planned giving into your development program.
Any nonprofit volunteer or staff member who is part of the fundraising team will benefit from this program.
Sara Leonard, MBA, CFRE is a solutions-oriented advancement professional with over 25 years’ experience in development and administration in the nonprofit field. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tampa and an MBA from the University of South Florida. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive and has been named as a Master Trainer by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
She has worked in the nonprofit sector raising funds for healthcare, educational and cultural organizations. She managed development operations including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, managing annual giving, major gift cultivation and solicitation, training and management of staff, board and volunteers, foundation and corporate support, sponsorships, annual funds, special events and in-kind support. She is widely considered an expert in crisis fundraising and has guided organizations through capital campaigns – both large and small.
CFRE Continuing Education Points
Full participation in this program is applicable for 12.0 (4 for each class) points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
