Performance management is an ongoing process of communication between a supervisor and an employee that occurs throughout the year, in support of accomplishing the strategic objectives of the organization.
In many organizations, these performance communications are neither ongoing nor effective.
In this class, NLC trainer Mark McCatty will teach you how to build a culture of openness and trust where neither party dreads conversations about performance.
You’ll learn how to develop and communicate expectations for the individual. Once both parties understand how that individual contributes to the organization’s end goal, positive discussions and goal setting can occur. The emphasis is shifted from pointing out “weaknesses” or areas for improvement to focus instead on providing support to serve key customer needs. The conversation becomes a shared focus for continuous improvement. In this way, you can build and celebrate your team and its accomplishments.
You will leave the class with new tools and an action plan to:
- Develop and communicate expectations
- Provide effective feedback
- Create a positive workplace, and
- Coach for improved performance.

NLC/Children’s Board of Hillsborough County No-Show Policy – effective July 1, 2018
The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County (CBHC) has asked NLC to reframe our no-show policy for their providers.
Effective July 1, 2018 CBHC-funded organizations using codes to claim CBHC-funded seats at NLC trainings or events will be responsible for payment of registration and processing fees in the event of a no-show. Please read the full no-show policy here.
