ORGANIZATION MISSION: The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (BGCS) is to provide high-quality, out-of-school Club experiences to ensure our young people, especially those who need us most, are on track to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, demonstrate good character & citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle. ABOUT BGCS: BGCS is mission focused and outcome driven. Currently BGCS operates 8 traditional Club locations, 21 school-based programs, and a virtual Clubhouse. The ambition for the organization is to increase BGCS’ positive impact in the Tampa Bay region by driving innovation, increasing the number of youths served, and by improving program efficacy. BGCS has served youth in Pinellas County for nearly 65 years. The Senior Leadership Team is stable, committed, and has more than 60 years of combined experience leading Boys & Girls Clubs. The current VP of Finance will continue to serve in the role until the new VP of Finance is hired and will assist in the transitioning and onboarding. BGCS has three board members who (currently or have previously) owned public accounting firms and the organization has a “clean audit” from the independent audit firm (Clifton Larson Allen). POSITION SUMMARY: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast is looking for its next Vice President of Finance to lead the finance and accounting department. We are one of the fastest growing Boys & Girls Clubs organizations in the United States and are looking for a VP of Finance who can help make a positive impact on kids’ lives. The Vice President of Finance is responsible for managing all financial functions of a complex $10.2M annual budget, which includes accounting, payroll, financial operations, property management, insurance premiums, legal requirements, and donor records. Requirements JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Establish and implement policies and procedures for all financial management functions, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices. • Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to develop annual income and expense budget. Provide timely and complete reporting of financial results and recommendations for necessary actions to maintain the fiscal health of Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast (BGCS). • Work closely with Club leadership and managers to: o Maintain, analyze, and interpret general ledgers for all funds. o Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports on a monthly and as needed basis. • Oversee the process for identifying and evaluating opportunities for improved financial operations, recordkeeping, and reporting, working with external auditors to prepare and review audit schedules and annual report of audit findings. • Seek and secure financial support and resources by managing the preparation of the annual request for United Way funds of all assets and investments of Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast (BGCS), including real property, equities, bonds, and other assets. • Lead organizational planning and development of operating and fund account budgets, and control expenditures against budget. Ensure the maintenance of financial records and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. • CPA/CFA required. • A minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting functions in a non-profit agency required. • Complete knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations. • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate financial management operations; facilities management; and budget management. • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong organization and analytical skills. • Ability to interact professionally with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, and other related agencies. TRAVEL: Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Pinellas County for training and/or other business purposes.
