Description / Details:

The mission of Love INC is to mobilize churches to transform lives and communities in the Name of Christ.  Each Affiliate develops and facilitates a network of churches and their volunteers and mobilize to respond to the needs of the community with compassion, discernment, and accountability.  Love INC exist to serves our churches, so this position is critical to our mission.

 

Reports to: Executive Director

Purpose: To lead the identification, development, relationship building, and communication with individual churches and among the network of churches.  Recruit and retain volunteers from member churches and connect them to the transformational opportunities to serve within the Love INC modes of service delivery.

Salary: Full-time, salaried position with salary based on education and experience.

 

  • Across denominational lines, identify and cultivate a diverse mix of member churches that best represent the demographics of Metro Tampa.
  • Create and implement sound strategies in building relationships with potential churches, including identification, targeted recruitment (geography, diversity) and onboarding.
  • Identify, train, and regularly engage Church Ministry Coordinators (CMC) and other Love INC volunteers recruited from partner churches.
  • Identify new and emerging strategies that best serve our partner churches, working with Church leaders to identify meaningful opportunities for church members to uniquely serve.
  • Conduct educational study groups on Redemptive Compassion and other related courses.  
  • Regularly consult with Help Center Manager to identify unmet needs and facilitate the development of Gap Ministries with partner churches and volunteers.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, orientation, and training, and consult with Help Center Manager and other staff to assign volunteers to opportunities that best match volunteers’ skills, resources, and goals for a volunteer experience.   
  • Creatively identify mission relevant volunteer opportunities to engage more volunteers from partner churches, including expansion of Resource Navigators services and other relational services.
  • Work with staff and volunteers to manage communications within network of churches and ensure all activity reflects organization’s standards of excellence. 
  • Develop and manage a monthly communication newsletter for churches, organize twice yearly gatherings of church leaders and CMCs, and meet regularly with individual member churches to understand how Love INC can best serve them.
  • Work closely with Executive Director to develop and operationalize Love INC’s REACH (Relationships that Equip, Affirm, Challenge and Heal) program, our comprehensive transformational ministry.
  • Work with churches to organize Love INC outreach and promotion in their congregations, i.e., Mission Sunday’s, presentations, Love INC 101 sessions at churches, bulletin announcements, collection drives to benefit one of the Gap Ministries or ministries of the churches. 
  • Provide staff support, with Executive Director, for the Love INC Board of Directors’ subcommittees (logistics, agenda, and minutes).
  • Monthly report to Executive Director the outcomes of activities.
  • Attend all Board of Directors’ meetings.
  • Other duties as required for a growing nonprofit organization. 

Qualifications

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the Apostles’ Creed. 
  • Have a heart for the Love INC mission and core values.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, ministry, public relations/communications, or other relevant area. 
  • Three years’ experience in public relations, adult education, community outreach and development with specific experience in group training/facilitation and volunteer recruitment/management. 
  • Detail oriented, self-directed, strategic global thinker who can work independently and is reliable.
  • Knowledge of Tampa faith community and resources.
  • Discerning, strengths-based, non-judgmental attitude to listen, empathize and accept others.
  • Knowledge of web-based tools for communication and volunteer management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (public speaking).  
  • Team player, willing to do what it takes to achieve goals in a small but growing ministry and social service nonprofit organization.
