Description / Details:

Engages current and future volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels and other services as we create advocates for vulnerable seniors throughout Pinellas County. ·         Performs needs assessment, recruitment, screening, orientation, resourcing, evaluation, and recognition to result in retention of productive and satisfied volunteers who serve to improve the health, wellness and independence of seniors ·         Maintains volunteer records ·         Develops the Volunteer Program budget ·         Indirectly supervises all Neighborly volunteers in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, screening, and orienting volunteers. Assists program supervisors with any volunteer performance issues. ·         Assists staff in identifying productive and creative roles for volunteers. Works with staff to establish position descriptions and required training for staff and volunteers ·         Serves as the central contact for agency-wide special volunteer projects, such as group projects or special events ·         With Neighborly staff, tracks, evaluates and reports on the contributions of volunteers. ·         Assists in community-wide efforts to promote volunteerism ·         Serves as the key advocate for Neighborly volunteer issues ·         Develops volunteer outreach materials ·         Regularly visits Neighborly sites throughout Pinellas County ·         Coordinates student intern programs in conjunction with local colleges and universities. ·         Must be diplomatic and solution-oriented Indirectly supervises all Neighborly volunteers in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, screening, and orienting volunteers. Assists program supervisors with any volunteer performance issues.
