Description / Details:

The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg (MFA) is seeking a full-time Director of Development, to lead our initiatives in developing and implementing strategies and tactics to generate financial support from foundations, corporations, governments and individuals. The Director of Development will serve as a key cultivator and solicitor of donors, inspiring MFA constituents to higher levels of giving and working collaboratively with museum staff and volunteers to ensure that revenue and donor interaction goals are met or exceeded.  The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director, senior leadership, and the Board of Trustees in the creation, articulation, and implementation of organizational goals and objectives.

Our successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including relationship building, staff management, and grant writing.  This individual must possess a proven track record of producing programs on-time, within budget and generating steadily increasing philanthropic support.  We are looking for a candidate who is collaborative, personable, confident, self-starting and authentic, with exceptional leadership and coaching skills.

Passion for and experience working in a museum, and/or other cultural organizations is a necessity.  This is an opportunity for the right individual to make a significant impact as the museum moves into a new and exciting phase of growth and development. Enthusiasm for the MFA and a genuine desire to shape the museum’s growth and future are essential.

A Bachelors Degree is required, with an advanced degree and/or Certified Fundraising Professional Certification preferred.

Salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000 annually.
