Announcing the Best Practices Summit: Building the NEW Board Governance Toolkit

Jen Dodd, Director of Education & Communications News, Stories

Team NLC is thrilled to announce that registration is NOW OPEN for our 2018 Board & Senior leadership Conference on November 8th. This year we’re bringing in not one but two BoardSource experts for a Best Practices Summit: Building the NEW Board Governance Toolkit. And we’re pleased to host this event in a new venue: the USF St. Petersburg Student Center.

Nonprofit CEOs, their c-suite executives and their board leadership are invited to immerse themselves in a daylong summit to add–or polish–key tools in their shared toolkit. Our nationally known speakers will offer best practices and proven strategies around every nonprofit board’s shared challenges: recruitment, engagement, diversity, fundraising, and succession planning.

Here’s a peek at the agenda and the session descriptions (for more details visit the event page here or the registration page here):

Building Strong Relationships: Effective Board Fundraising in A Challenging Economy

In the first 3-hour session of the Conference, Board Governance luminary Chuck Loring will highlight the importance of relationship building and share simple, effective fundraising strategies.

Rethinking Business as Usual: Your New Leadership Imperatives

In a time of accelerated change, innovation and disruption, Vernetta Walker details why leaders must be agile and future focused. Navigating today’s challenging environment requires us to rethink business as usual on three fundamental fronts: diversity and inclusion, board member engagement, and succession.

The 2018 Board & Senior Leadership Conference will be most impactful when the CEO and at least one board member attend together. The board governance committee chair or another member of the leadership team is strong choice for a third attendee, so we’re discounting 3-packs of tickets. Full-day tickets ensure that an organization benefits from both of our experts, while  half-day tickets give attendees access to Session 1 with Chuck Loring and lunch.

We encourage our nonprofit leadership teams to register today as early bird pricing is in effect through September 1st–and seating is limited.
