Starting:
To succeed in today’s competitive grant writing environment, fundraisers and nonprofit professionals must practice and master critical skills to develop winning proposals. Now, you can take your career and impact to the next level by obtaining your Certificate in Grant Writing.
During this interactive, four-session certificate program designed for those who are new to grant writing or have little or no grant writing experience, you will learn best practices for developing winning grant proposals from grant writing expert Abby Mackness.
Narratives and Outcomes
Learn how to develop a toolkit, write a grant narrative and set measurable and reliable outcomes.
Budget and Research
Receive the tools to develop a program budget, participate in live exercises and learn the various resources available to conduct grant research specific to your organization.
Grants Management
Writing the grant is only the first step of the funding process. We will address the “now what?” of grants and provide insight on how to manage grantor relationships and expectations. (For a deeper dive on this topic, check our training calendar for the next upcoming round of How to Successfully Manage Grants, offered annually).
Grants Writing Practice and Feedback
Students will draft sections of a grant application and will have the opportunity to share with their peers to both receive feedback and review other students’ drafts.
Grant Funder Panel
Local grant experts will provide helpful feedback on how you can improve your grant writing and grant application process.
Participants must attend all 4 sessions and complete assignments to receive the Grant Writing Certificate. You must attend Session 1 to continue to subsequent sessions. If you must miss any other session, you may make it up at the next future offering of the course. To receive the Certificate you must complete all sessions and assignments within 12 months.
