Moving from Doer to Leader | September 6, 2023

Registration closes at 11:55 p.m. Eastern on September 4, 2023.

In this session, you will learn the biggest mistake new managers make and how to avoid it. You will walk away with practical tools for creating core competencies and making the most of team member time that you can implement right away:

  • Your role is changing: Understand how to make the shift and set a vision for the leader you want to be.
  • Moving from doer to delegator: Learn how to delegate effectively across each team member’s skill level.
  • Great expectations: Set clear expectations for your team, so they know what success looks like, and learn about your team’s expectations of you (yes, they have them).
  • Time management: Your team will appreciate you respecting their time through effective meeting management, evaluating workloads for hidden time-wasters, and updating procedures that streamline how work gets done.

Productivity Hacks & Team Recognition Strategies | September 27, 2023

Registration closes at 11:55 p.m. Eastern on September 25, 2023.

In this session, you will explore:

  • New hire onboarding: Why onboarding is so important and how to build an effective program for new employees that shortens their ramp-up time.
  • Balancing work across the team: Leverage each team member’s strengths while reducing resentment from uneven workloads.
  • Customized employee recognition: Not all employees appreciate the same type of recognition. Learn how to tailor your recognition to what each employee values most.
  • Productivity habits to avoid: Walk away with new tools to address employee habits that negatively impact effectiveness (e.g., procrastination, perfectionism, shiny object syndrome).

At the end of this session, you will leave equipped with:

  • A new hire onboarding plan
  • A tool to uncover the hidden strengths of each team member
  • Five types of recognition to diversify the way you reward excellent work
  • Productivity tools to bring out the best in your team

Managing Teams & Succession Planning | October 25, 2023

Registration closes at 11:55 p.m. Eastern on October 23, 2023.

In this session, you will explore the following:

  • Beware the culture of “nice”: Many leaders want to take a positive approach to managing their team members, but some lean so heavily on a “culture of nice” that it creates unintended consequences that can negatively impact team morale. We’ll explore how to set the right balance to give team members the clear direction they crave.
  • Five levels of listening: Not all listening is created equal, and not all situations require the same level of listening. Learn to listen for what employees aren’t saying and when to hold off on going into problem-solving mode.
  • Beyond an open-door policy: As a manager, you will never hear everything going on with your team. We’ll explore how to build approachability so that your team members feel safe when they need to bring you bad news.
  • Offboarding: It doesn’t have to be a mad scramble when team members leave. Build a plan for these inevitable transitions. Also, learn how to use a departure to reinvigorate the team by reconfiguring responsibilities that leverage current strengths and giving team members new ways to grow.
