SUMMARY
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the company, developing short- and long-term goals with the CEO, reporting to the board of directors and working with the internal operations of the business. The COO is directly responsible for the Facilities, Operations and Programs Departments and works hand-in-hand with each department to ensure goals are met and productivity is achieved. The responsibilities include securing grants and contracts, working with program partners and developing the direction of future program offerings in conjunction with the BOD, CEO and other staff as required. A good understanding of UACDC policies and organizational procedures and the ability to work with others in a service-oriented environment is required by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees facility operations of all UACDC sites, programming locations and services.
Supervision and oversight of all Programs and Facilities Department members.
Establishes, maintains, and monitors all facilities operational systems accordingly and ensures that facilities
rentals are achieving their revenue goal.
Manages, coordinates and monitors the implementation and evaluation of all strategic initiatives with a focus on analyzing data to show impact and program effectiveness.
Oversees all aspects of operations and facilities including; maintenance, rentals housekeeping, IT and phone
system.
Responsible for the execution of UACDC operations in support of the UACDC’s goal of providing diverse, equitable, and inclusive programs & services.
Coordinates implementation of Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Evaluates the feasibility of opportunities and develops business plans and projected budgets.
Develops and implements organization’s programs and assesses needs and ensures that program objectives are met providing high level reports to CEO on a regular basis.
Coordinates with the Development team on funding priorities, grant applications and cultivation efforts.
Demonstrates an understanding of the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
Evaluates the feasibility of opportunities and develops business plans and projected budgets.
Oversees development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan, contract guidelines, requirements and interests of the community.
Prepares written materials necessary to support programmatic efforts.
Works well within an urban community setting and has good communication skills and a mind-set for community development and resident engagement.
Encourages employees to maximize performance and dedication by setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth, holds continuous conversations, provides development and recognition.
Provides quality assurance, develops quantitative and qualitative reports and findings to guarantee programs and facilities have met goals.
Responsible for grant proposal and contract development and management with federal, state, and local government funding sources, including programmatic reporting and fiscal reporting with support of Finance Department.
Represents UACDC when meeting and interacting with elected officials, advocacy groups and organizations, community associations, and other agencies.
Responsible for working in collaboration with other community programs and ensuring the non- duplication of services by the UACDC; ensures development of UACDC-run programs that are strategically appropriate or as directed by the CEO and Board.
Assists other organizations in joint program development with the UACDC as a partner receiving funding for space, administration, and/or evaluation oversight for the programming.
Professionally represents the UACDC to a variety of audiences and interacts effectively with internal and external constituencies.
All other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Professionally represents the UACDC to a variety of audiences and interacts effectively with internal and external constituencies.
All other duties as assigned by the CEO.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
Attends Executive, Senior and general staff meetings.
Reviews contracts matrix for upcoming renewals.
Works with Hillsborough County on facilities maintenance requests.

Controls of Cost, Budgets, Quality Control, Customer Service, Records, Safety and Other Employees

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a small staff of direct reports to assist with the various program implementation and administration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
