Reports To: Annual Giving Manager

SUMMARY
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Development Department’s efforts to sustain and grow relationships with prospects, donors, vendors, and partners. Reporting to the Annual Giving Manager, this position is responsible for providing essential administrative functions, managing the donor database, and assisting with event planning and execution. The Development Coordinator will work collaboratively on cultivation events, the partner coalition, volunteer days, special events, and other department initiatives. This role requires handling confidential and time-sensitive materials with professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of discretion. The primary goal of this position is to support the development of sustainable relationships with individuals, organizations, and corporations, helping to advance the mission of University Area CDC (UACDC).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participation in company events and external events (luncheons, galas, meetings) as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES

BUSINESS RELATED CONTACTS
Internal and external personnel.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience. Prior work experience in a non-profit organization is an added plus. Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with Bloomerang or similar fundraising software is a plus. Previous experience with event coordination and administration. Experience working in a deadline-driven environment and attention to detail is a must. The ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving, priority setting, organization, and collaboration skills are required. Excellent proof reading and quality control skills are required, along with strong time management skills is a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, clients, customers, and the general public. Bi-lingual is an added plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Spreadsheets, Presentations, relational databases, and Word Processing software. Experience with Bloomerang software is an added benefit.
