Heather Grzelka is an accomplished marketing and communications professional specializing in the health and nonprofit sectors. Organizations rely on Heather to develop and implement strategies that advance social causes, influence policymakers, drive sales and increase donor support. She credits her success during the past two decades to helping her clients earn trust and credibility with their key stakeholder audiences. Before founding Madeira Public Relations in 2011, Heather spent the first decade of her career navigating the Washington, D.C., political arena. During her tenure as media relations director at the American Lung Association’s national office, Heather and her team advanced legislative support for lifesaving policy measures aimed at reducing the burden of air pollution and smoking-related illnesses. Heather also spent several rewarding years working in scientific communications at the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Her expertise in the health sector spans widely across such specialty areas as clinical trials, medical devices, provider networks, public health, hospice, senior care, organ donation, mental health, and prescription pet medications. As the principal of Madeira Public Relations, Heather continues to work with the American Lung Association to advance its ambitious public health agenda. Her firm has also provided strategic counsel to the national office of The ALS Association, the National Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the National Retail Association, the American Heart Association, American Bone Health, PainTEQ, Echolight Medical USA, PetIQ, Florida Dream Center, PARC, Gulfside Hospice, Friends of Strays, Farm to School Network, Ironman Foundation, and the state of California among many other organizations with purposeful missions.
