Certificate in Nonprofit Management

The Nonprofit Leadership Center offers a graduate certificate in nonprofit management in collaboration with the University of Tampa. The program is taught by Ph.D. faculty in partnership with leading nonprofit practitioners.

The Certificate in Nonprofit Management at the University of Tampa is a graduate-level educational opportunity for current and emerging nonprofit leaders to enhance their knowledge and skills in strategic thinking, leadership, financial management and marketing. It consists of four one-week seminars during an 18-month period. The program represents 12 credit hours of graduate-level instruction.

Seminars are generally held in May and August of the first calendar year and January and May of the second. Candidates must be able to spend two weeks in a calendar year away from their offices for the seminars.

Seminars include:

  • Thinking Strategically
  • Marketing, Research & Communications 
  • Accounting & Financial Management
  • Leadership & Innovation

Certificate candidates are immersed in a life-changing experience with other organizational leaders and future leaders, increasing their knowledge of the nonprofit sector, working alongside and networking with professionals from other organizations and creating solutions to challenges and opportunities to drive community impact.

Applications for the 2020-2021 Certificate in Nonprofit Management program (beginning in May 2020) must be submitted by March 1, 2020. You can find the application here.

Tuition for the Nonprofit Management Certificate program is $558 per credit hour, and 12 credit hours are required for completion. With program fees and books, total tuition is approximately $8,500.

Scholarships are available. The process is competitive and scholarships are not guaranteed.
