Session 1: Work, Interrupted: Take Back Control of Your Workday
Virtual-June 16, 2021 8:30 am-12:30 pm EST
Studies show that during an average workday, a person can lose up to three hours to interruptions and time mismanagement. By identifying your most common daily disruptions and developing strategies to manage them, you can take back control over your day and increase your productivity — all while minimizing work-related stress.
Managing interruptions has a lot more to do with discipline than being organized, and discipline is a skill anyone can learn. This class is perfect for every nonprofit professional, especially program directors and managers, executive leadership, volunteer managers, and fundraisers.
In this session with Margarita Sarmiento, you will:
- Learn surprisingly easy and practical solutions to become less stressed, more productive and more successful
- Explore real-life experiences and strategies for how to handle work interruptions
- Discover how to add extra time to your day
Session 2: Mindfulness 101
Virtual-June 30, 2021 8:30 am-12:30 pm EST
Life constantly demands our attention. But when we become fixated on the past or worried about the future, we often miss the most vital parts and possibilities of our present situation. Cultivating a state where you are consistently present in the moment is not impossible, but it takes practice. Participants will learn about the benefits of mindfulness and self-awareness in creating balance — both at work and in life. You will practice mindfulness and meditation and develop strategies for being a more effective leader.
In the session, join DrStem: Sithembile Mahlatini, Ed.D., LCSW to learn what mindfulness is and master techniques to help you become more tuned into the present. Through interactive activities and real-world case studies, you’ll explore the value of your emotions, identify and counter distorted thinking that can lead to anxiety and become more fully present in social and professional interactions.
Session 3: The Power of Self-Awareness
Virtual-July 14, 2021 8:30 am-12:30 pm EST
