Pinellas Series Description

NLC is so pleased to present a series of classes in Pinellas County in 2020! The five series of classes that we are offering – each series comprised of 2-3 sessions – will cover the following five topics: marketing & communications, fund development, board governance, leadership development, and financial management. There are a few things unique to these Pinellas classes that we’d like to share with you:

  1. All of these classes are happening in Pinellas but in various locations, so please pay close attention to the location listed below as well as our reminder e-mails to make sure you end up at the right place!
  2. You will get the most benefit out of a series if you sign up for each of the sessions in the series. You must register for each session that you plan to attend by selecting each from the registration menu below.
  3. NLC is thrilled to provide classroom training in Pinellas, thanks to the generous support of our funders: Juvenile Welfare Board, Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and Pinellas Community Foundation. When you accept a free seat from a funder, there is an expectation that if you cannot attend, you will either send a coworker in your place or let us know with enough notice so that we can offer the seat to another organization on the waiting list (we expect most of these classes to sell out). We will be sharing attendance with the funders after class so they can see who benefitted from their support, so we thank you for your cooperation as we strive to reach the greatest number of nonprofit leaders possible through our training in Pinellas.

Marketing & Communications Series

In this interactive series and discovery workshop, you will walk away with a focused marketing road map that strategically aligns with your organizational goals for 2020. Ever wondered how to create a marketing strategy that will move the needle for your nonprofit? Or how to build a plan for connecting with and mobilizing key audiences? By the end of this workshop, you will have a practical step by step digital and experiential marketing blueprint, including a detailed campaign and execution plan, which can significantly increase the brand awareness, organizational impact and fundraising ability of your organization.

Session 1: Planning Your Organization’s Marketing Strategy to Maximize Impact

This course is designed to help you create an annual strategic marketing plan for your organization outlining a tactical approach to goal-setting, audience growth practices, resource allocation and measurement – mapping out your organization’s entire year of key marketing initiatives and programs.

Topics include:
1. Reverse engineering your desired outcome
2. Taking inventory
3. Assessing opportunities and goals
4. Identifying and connecting with key audiences including donors, board members, volunteers and community members
5. How to set up digital channels and systems for your nonprofit
6. How to identify and allocate resources (internal and external partners) and save on expenses
7. How to measure success – website analytics and reporting, social media metrics, email marketing metrics, subscribers, and revenue goals

This series is designed for nonprofit CEO’s, senior leaders and anyone in the organization who is involved with marketing.

Session 2: Elevating Your Story & Improving Brand Engagement

This course is designed to help you connect with your organizational and personal ‘WHY’ so you can gain clarity and communicate to key audiences the purpose behind your organization, inspiring others to want to give their time, energy and resources to help make an impact. This course will help you to think outside of the box to connect with strategic partners, gain media exposure and plan strategic marketing initiatives that will help move the needle for your organization.

Topics include:
1. Connecting to your why
2. Enhancing your brand’s identity
3. How to develop a channel strategy and select strategic, tactical and creative initiatives
4. How to create a social media, email marketing, content, PR, digital and events strategy
5. How to brainstorm and identify outside of the box initiatives and ideas that can generate publicity and brand recognition

Who should attend the session?
This series is designed for nonprofit CEO’s, senior leaders and anyone in the organization who is involved with marketing.
