With nearly two decades of experience as a senior development leader in the nonprofit sector, Michelle Maslowski, MBA, CFRE, is an accomplished fundraising executive with a proven track record of developing and implementing high impact philanthropic strategies that result in transformational gifts, sustainable fundraising growth, and long-term donor engagement.
Michelle currently serves as Director of Philanthropy for the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, where she provides leadership to the Foundation’s team of Philanthropic Advisors while managing a portfolio of donor and professional advisor relationships. She focuses on enhancing the donor experience through coaching, strategic planning, process improvement, donor stewardship, and cross functional collaboration to expand charitable giving throughout the region.

Previously, Michelle served as Associate Vice President, Individual Philanthropy Programs at Moffitt Cancer Center, where she provided executive oversight of principal gifts, major gifts, planned giving, and annual giving while helping advance the Foundation’s ten-year strategic plan. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles in two highly successful comprehensive campaigns: Drexel University’s Dream It. Do It. Drexel. A Campaign for the Future, which raised $455 million, and Jefferson Health’s Reimagine: The Campaign for Jefferson, a $1 billion campaign. These experiences established her expertise in campaign planning and execution, major and principal gifts, annual and planned giving, donor and board engagement, fundraising strategy, and building high performing philanthropy programs.

Michelle is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Adjunct Faculty for The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and an AFP Certified Facilitator. She teaches fundraising professionals from across the country and often presents on fundraising strategy, board engagement, and philanthropy. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Economics and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Investment Management, both from Drexel University.
A former professional basketball player, Michelle competed throughout Europe for ten years following an outstanding collegiate career at Drexel University,
where she graduated as the University’s all time leading scorer with more than 1,900 career points and today remains the program’s second all time leading scorer.
Michelle serves on the Board of Directors of Pace Center for Girls, Manatee County, and the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southwest Florida Chapter. She and her husband, Joseph Trahey, reside in Bradenton, Florida.
