Conflict Dynamics Profile®

Reduce Workplace Conflict at Your Nonprofit with the Conflict Dynamics Profile® Assessment

Conflict in the workplace disrupts work, creates stress and decreases productivity. If you’re ready to effectively mitigate and manage conflict at your nonprofit, it’s time to take the Conflict Dynamics Profile® (CDP) with a Certified Facilitator at the Nonprofit Leadership Center.

Because conflict can occur anywhere and at any time, the Conflict Dynamics Profile assessment can be used individually or with teams in a group setting to measure conflict behaviors and provide practical guidance and techniques to better manage conflict in any situation.

What is the Conflict Dynamics Profile®?

The Conflict Dynamics Profile is an assessment tool designed to prevent harmful conflict in the workplace by providing managers and employees with a greater awareness of how they respond when faced with a conflict. Specifically, CDP results reveal powerful insights that help individuals and teams understand how they respond to conflict, what triggers can escalate conflict, and how to manage conflict more effectively.

Backed by sound psychometrics and solid evidence of reliability and validity, the assessment measures conflict behaviors: how we tend to respond to conflict and the hot buttons that typically trigger us.

There are two versions of the assessment, both of which provide actionable techniques and strategies for immediate improvement:

CDP-Individual

As a “self-report,” the CDP-Individual assessment focuses on how one views themselves. Those who take the assessment will learn more about how they naturally respond to conflict, behaviorally and emotionally.

CDP-360

The CDP-360 enables participants to compare their perceptions about how they behave during conflict with their colleagues. It provides a complete “conflict profile” with feedback from supervisors, peers and direct reports. The CDP-360 is particularly helpful for leaders, managers and high-potential employees for whom conflict can be particularly challenging.

Both assessments provide feedback on 15 scales and identify the emotional triggers that negatively impact relationships, known as “hot buttons.”

Expected Outcomes

After taking the CDP-Individual or 360, you can expect to:

  • Deepen your understanding of conflict
  • Receive a detailed report that outlines your results and discuss them with one of our certified trainers
  • Consider how others trigger conflicting responses in you and the techniques and strategies to improve in areas that challenge you
  • Begin to develop a conflict management plan
  • Feel confident and equipped to minimize conflict at work and in life

I went into this training expecting to learn how to get other people to deal with their conflict better, but I left learning how to deal with conflict myself. I learned that I have both strengths and opportunities for growth. My highlight was the hot button issues. It really helped me recognize when to anticipate conflict coming from myself.
