Jesica D’Avanza, MPA, APR, is an award-winning nonprofit brand strategist who refuses to let good organizations settle for good-enough brands. As founder and chief strategy officer at Round Square, she equips nonprofits to finally overcome the age-old challenge: “But it’s so hard to explain what we do.”
From local and regional organizations to America’s most recognizable nonprofits, Jesica helps changemakers build brands people actually care about. Her work ensures nonprofits clarify their purpose, cut through the noise, and crush their fundraising and mission goals.
Before launching Round Square, Jesica led communications and brand management at the American Cancer Society and Muscular Dystrophy Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in public administration (with an emphasis in nonprofit management) from Florida State University, plus her Accreditation in Public Relations. In 2012, PRWeek named Jesica one of the nation’s 40 under 40 top communications professionals. (While she has long since aged out of that category, her work has only gotten sharper.) Most recently, her company, Round Square, earned recognition as the 10th fastest-growing business owned by an FSU alum in the 2023 Seminole 100.
A Tampa Bay native, Jesica spends her downtime visiting National Parks with her husband and daughter (Jackson, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons hold the top spot in their hearts). She and her husband recently finished three mountain marathons in three days in Park City, Utah, because apparently one wasn’t enough of a challenge.
