Introduction to Nonprofit Accounting

About This Event

Starting:

October 17, 2024

Strong accounting is the foundation for a successful nonprofit organization. This important course introduces professionals with little to no accounting experience to accounting basics that build your confidence, including key terminology and vocabulary, designing a chart of accounts, recordkeeping, and financial reporting.

By the end of this session, you’ll understand:

  • How to create a chart of accounts
  • The basics of financial statements
  • Concepts such as revenue recognition, restricted funds, internal controls, and functional expense allocations
  • How to prioritize your financial processes and procedures as your organization grows

This class is a valuable precursor to prepare you to take the Nonprofit Leadership Center’s Certificate in Nonprofit Financial Management.
