Tampa Bay, FL — [June 23, 2025] — Community Foundation Tampa Bay and the Nonprofit Leadership Center (NLC) are proud to announce a three-year strategic partnership with funding totaling $225,000 to build a stronger, more sustainable nonprofit sector across the region. This collaboration unites two regional leaders in philanthropy and nonprofit capacity-building around a shared vision: empowering nonprofits with the funding, skills and support necessary to increase impact and ensure long-term viability.
“This alliance represents more than funding; it’s a shared commitment to help nonprofits not only survive but thrive. Together with Community Foundation Tampa Bay, we’re equipping nonprofit leaders with the tools, training and strategic thinking needed to strengthen operations, leadership, and ultimately, the communities they serve.”
Charlie Imbergamo, CEO of the Nonprofit Leadership Center
Over the next three years, Community Foundation Tampa Bay will invest a minimum of $75,000 annually in NLC, supporting:
- Nonprofit capacity-building initiatives with a focus in Pasco County in 2025
- Board governance programs to advance nonprofit boards for a sustainable future
- Co-presenting sponsorship of NLC’s annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference
- Ongoing research, development and convening focused on nonprofit sustainability
These efforts reflect a bold, intentional roadmap to elevate the region’s nonprofit ecosystem and attract new philanthropic investors to this vital work.
“We at Community Foundation Tampa Bay along with our fundholders believe that nonprofits are critical to the overall health of our community. By partnering with the Nonprofit Leadership Center, we are ensuring nonprofits have access to needed resources to support their individual resilience, growth and overall community impact.”
Jesse Coraggio, Senior Vice President of Community Impact, Community Foundation Tampa Bay
The alliance also includes a commitment to joint marketing and awareness campaigns that champion the importance of nonprofit sustainability and the role of capacity-building in maximizing philanthropic return on investment. This brand alignment strategy will emphasize the complementary strengths of each organization and elevate public understanding of why infrastructure matters in the nonprofit space.
“This partnership is exactly the kind of forward-looking investment our region needs. When donors and nonprofits have access to both capital and capacity-building, community impact accelerates. It’s about building a nonprofit sector that is as strong as the communities it serves.”
Michelle Sanchez, Board Chair, Nonprofit Leadership Center
As Tampa Bay continues to evolve, the need for strong, adaptable nonprofits has never been greater. This Strategic Funding Alliance positions Community Foundation Tampa Bay and the Nonprofit Leadership Center as a united force in shaping a resilient, responsive sector prepared to meet the region’s most pressing challenges.
