Selah Freedom is a nonprofit dedicated to ending sex trafficking and bringing freedom to individuals who have been exploited.
Thanks to support from a funder, the organization partnered with the Nonprofit Leadership Center (NLC) and NLC Key Partner HR Soul to develop a clear, actionable strategic plan with well-defined organizational goals.
Understanding Strengths & Challenges
The first step in the process was to take the TCC Group’s Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT®), facilitated by the Nonprofit Leadership Center.
The CCAT is an online, survey-based capacity assessment that collects information from organizational decision-makers. It must be administered by a certified organization like the Nonprofit Leadership Center.
"The CCAT process included a comprehensive survey distributed to a representative group of our employees, volunteers and board members. The results provided valuable insights and confirmed that Selah Freedom is well-positioned for continued growth and impact."
Stacey Efaw, MBA | Executive Director, Selah Freedom
The CCAT report provided Selah Freedom with an analysis of strengths and challenges in nearly 40 categories, along with tangible recommendations to increase organizational effectiveness and long-term success.
Setting the Right Goals
“Using the findings from our CCAT, we conducted several planning sessions with HR Soul that informed and strengthened our annual Board Retreat,” Stacy shared. “During the retreat, we finalized our organizational goals for 2025.”
Selah Freedom reports that it is currently on track to meet the majority of its strategic goals.
"The expertise and leadership of the Nonprofit Leadership Center and HR Soul were instrumental in ensuring this process was both efficient and highly effective. Their guidance allowed us to align our mission, strategy and operations with clarity and purpose."
